The Multicultural Association of Carleton County (MACC) is an official CELPIP Test Centre.

The CELPIP Test stands for the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP). It is a fully computer-delivered English language testing program that provides a consistent and standardized measurement of a test taker’s competency in the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). It was originally developed by the University of British Columbia (UBC) to give a Canadian alternative to the IELTS Test, which is a British/Australian Test. It incorporates Canadian English and accents as practiced in Canada.

The CELPIP Test is offered in two versions, the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test, to suit different organizational needs. CELPIP-General Test assesses listening, speaking, reading and writing proficiency in typical everyday situations. It is designated by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as proof of English language proficiency for those applying for permanent resident status in Canada.

The CELPIP-General LS Test assesses listening and speaking proficiency in typical everyday situations. It is accepted by CIC as proof of listening and speaking proficiency for those applying for Canadian citizenship.
